Whether you are completing matric or have already finished school, Equilibria helps you explore your options and prepare for further studies, work and adult life.
Equilibria is designed for young people who want to use a structured gap year after matric to prepare for their next stage of life.
For the 2027 intake, applicants:
Must currently be in matric (Grade 12) or be post-matric.
Should generally be 23 years old or younger.
Should have a matric academic average of 60% or above.
Must demonstrate personal motivation and a genuine desire to participate.
Must be willing to engage fully in the program’s structure, courses and activities.
Still completing matric? You can apply while you are in Grade 12.
Academic average below 60%? Academic exceptions may be considered where relevant circumstances explain your results.
To apply to Equilibria, complete the online form with your personal details, academic information and questionnaire responses.
Provide your personal details, academic information and answers to the application questionnaire, then submit your application online.
You should receive an email within 24 hours confirming that your application has been received. This acknowledgement does not mean that you have been accepted.
If you do not receive confirmation, check your spam or junk folder and contact Equilibria so we can check your submission.
We review your application form, academic results and the student profile obtained through the questionnaire. You may be asked to attend an online interview to clarify information or discuss your application.
We look for applicants who are motivated to grow, willing to participate fully and ready to make the most of their year at Equilibria.
The selection process usually takes up to three business days. We will email you the outcome. If you have not heard from us within that time, please follow up by email or telephone.
If your application is successful, we will send you a Registration Form.
To secure your place, return the completed Registration Form together with the applicable registration fee.

Early bird registration closes: 30 October 2026.
Standard registration closes: 30 November 2026.
Late registrations may be considered if places remain available. The early bird fee benefit does not apply to late registrations.
Applying and registering are separate steps. Your place is secured once you have returned the completed Registration Form and paid the applicable registration fee.
Yes. You do not need to have your career or study direction figured out before applying. Equilibria provides extensive individual career guidance to help students understand themselves, explore career options, research possible careers and make informed decisions about their future.
You can apply to Equilibria even if you have not yet decided what to study or which career to pursue.
Yes. Students from different backgrounds are welcome. However, applicants must understand and respect that Equilibria is a Christian-based program and that the Bible forms the foundation of the school’s teaching, values and approach.
Equilibria’s structured gap year gives you time to understand yourself, gain career clarity and make an informed choice about what to study. It can help prevent costly mistakes, while giving you practical life skills, greater independence, confidence and the ability to handle the pressures of adult life and further studies.
Complete the online Equilibria application form with your personal, academic and other relevant information. Submit online. You should receive an email within 24 hours to confirm that your application was received.

Once you are registered, you can focus on completing matric or whatever you are doing that year, knowing that your Equilibria place is secured.
From the beginning of September before your Equilibria year, we can also start assisting you with finding suitable accommodation in Potchefstroom.
You can then look forward to a structured year of learning, personal development, career exploration, practical experiences, camps, activities and life skills training.
